The American Dream
2014 - Reclaimed Printer, Arduino
The American Dream is an installation piece built using a repurposed printer, two small wood pieces, and Arduino. The piece represents a pointless struggle to move forward through the movement of the printer through space. The small legs only allow limited movement at a given time, and even then, the printer will eventually be further limited by it's cord allowing it to move no further. The case of the printer is also left open to allow the printer to gain sympathy and pity from the audience as it creates a anthropomorphized appearance to the printer which seems to be alive and struggling in a way.
